With allergies, do you ever get a drip in the back of your throat that puts a fowl smell in your mouth?

My allergies have been so bad that I have this now. I can't seem to clear it out, even with hot water when i gargle. Anyone have an idea of how to clear this? I am on Zyrtec now and waiting on a prescription, so any help would be great - thanks!
