Baby struggles at night when I try to cuddle her?

sometimes with my son, I just came in, pick him up barely made eye contact fed him, laid him back down, changed him and sung him a song while I rubbed his back. It took a while until I gave him a pacifier and then he went back to sleep so quick. it was almost a miracle.
