What is the worst/best thing you ever did for your child?

I left my kids with my parents to care for my husband while he was in the hospital. It was the best thing for me because I needed to focus my attention on him. It was also the worst thing for my children because they needed the understading of what happened. It created major issues of anxiety in the children and fears they shouldn't have had to face. We finally have them sleeping through the night in their own rooms again. No more nightmares of Daddy beig dead and no more questions of "what if". But it has been a long hard road.
