He's trying to teach you the value of a dollar. Just because you have money doesn't mean you should waste it. If he gives you money when you go out and the bills are paid, chances are you are not poor, and honestly if you are, he needs to do some major liquidating. He probably has high credit card bills. Just pay attention to how you spend money and realize that even if Daddy has money of his own, you don't. When you leave home you'll have to earn your way and pay your own bills. Start making habits now that will help you then. Track the money you get and how you spend it. Budget yourself.
